Hey! I’m Kim.

This is my attempt at sharing the highlights of my experience, my education, and my values. While what is written below is not everything, my intention is for you have a sense of who I am and what has shaped me. Come see me at Soluna Yoga and Wellness in Glen Park, San Francisco!

Where I am currently:

I am a healer, teacher, and mostly content 30-something woman living in the greatest city in the world. I recently opened my own yoga studio which means I’ve been managing a full time job, a full teaching schedule, and the responsibilities

of owning and managing a small business. This phase of life is a busy one and I am moving towards more balance. As a healer and a teacher, I believe that the container I hold is the most important part of my work. Because of this I am dedicated to keeping my relationships authentic, to being courageous in my inner work, and to lovingly nurturing my body, mind, and soul. I love to create art, open water swim, and explore SF on foot and ebike.

Where it started:

I was a Division I rower at the University of Texas. Texas was everything I wanted in a school and a rowing program. I wanted a big school, Austin was far away from my hometown, and I got to be teammates with my older sister.  Rowing gave me the opportunity as a young adult to fully explore my power and my strength. I learned to move past the limits of my mind and stay in the present movement through physical discomfort. I got to travel and compete on an elite level with my best friends. I received guidance from some of the best coaches in the world and was peers with some of the most amazing athletes of my generation.

After I graduated, I moved back to Pennsylvania, went on one hike, and decided to thru hike the Appalachian trail with no experience. On the trail I reconnected with my essence and I experienced a level of freedom that I never knew possible. After the trail, I moved to San Francisco site unseen and started to build my life out west.

My Spiritual awakening:

My spiritual awakening started during COVID.  A friend had recently started an energy healing business and I decided to get a virtual session. I had a very profound and physical experience. Before this, I would have described myself as an open minded skeptic in the world of spirituality. I loved Tarot cards and crystal shops but everything else about the unknown scared me. After this session, I felt a weight lifted off of me that I hadn’t felt since I hiked the AT. It was an activation of my heart and my soul’s mission. Ever since that day, everything I have done has been in service to my soul’s work.

Less than a year later, I lost my mom. She developed cancer, had a negative reaction to treatment, and died from complications of Scleroderma. She was a mother of 5, a public school teacher, and a community leader. She suffered from chronic stress and was part of a generation that didn’t have the tools for emotional processing or regulation. Both the yogic and Reiki traditions teach that negative thought patterns, stress, overwork,  and lack of emotional processing create disease in the the body. I believe that she her death was a direct result of the structures created by the patriarchy and watching her decline inspires the work that I do everyday and the space that I hold for myself and others.

During the first waves of grieving, Yoga was a way for me to find stillness in my body. I learned how to process, to witness, and consciously remove myself from my physical experience. Learning and practicing yoga felt like a rebirth. I started the path to teaching and I have completed over 300 hours of training (so far!), I am prenatal-yoga certified, a birth doula, and a Reiki Master. I love learning about the history, the traditions, and the mysticism of these practices. I love all the options and pathways available to conscious living. I love sharing what I have learned, and connecting with my community through this work.

Thanks for reading.

See you soon,

Kim

Kind Words
Kim was an incredible support throughout my pregnancy and labor. She was so easy to work with, offering invaluable guidance to help me prepare for birth. During labor, she was by my side, providing much-needed support and a calming presence that made all the difference. Thanks to her unwavering encouragement (along with my husband's), I was able to achieve my goal of a birth without an epidural—even when I had moments of doubt. I truly couldn’t have done it without her, and I’m beyond grateful for her care.
